Tanmatsu has passed EMC and RED tests
After a long wait the first results are finally here: Tanmatsu has passed the EMC and RED tests successfully! This means production will start soon. We expect that pre-orders will start shipping in three to four weeks.
What are EMC tests?
Electro-Magnetic Compatibility tests encompass a series of tests which verifies that the product can work in an environment with other electrical appliances.
The tests check that unintentional electromagnetic radiation being transmitted by the product is below a limit deemed acceptable and that the device can not be influenced negatively in the presence of electromagnetic noise generated by other devices.
In addition tests are done to verify the device can handle electrostatic discharge (ESD) pulses, to ensure the device can handle shocks from (among many other situations) your cat rubbing up against it 😆.
What are RED tests?
Radio Equipment Directive tests are a series of tests verifying that the intentional electromagnetic radiation emitted by transmitting radios is filtered properly and does not cause issues for other devices or services.
